Our wide-ranging experience in public and private sector arenas ideally positions us to create a buzz around sport, leisure and tourism initiatives.
We have significant experience of working with diverse stakeholder groups to capture their imagination, hold their interest and secure their long-term committment. We are particularly skilled at engaging and consulting with groups that are traditionally considered ‘hard to reach’, such as young people.
Our experience includes the deliverly of public health campaigns that have focus on improving diet and adopting active lifestyles; training of health service professionals in message management; developing proposals and delivering campaigns to promote rural and urban tourist ventures; and managing internal and external activity days.
We have a solid understanding of, and interest in citizen-focused service delivery and initiatives that support balanced, active and sustainable communities.
Tackling Obesity
According to recent Government figures, almost six out of ten women and seven out of ten men are overweight or obese - and the numbers continue to rise. Incredibly, the WHO states that overweight and obesity are now so common amongst the world's population that they are begining to replace undernutrician and infectious disease as the most significant contributors to ill health.
In tackling the problem of obesity, it is essential for local authorities, the health sector and the voluntary sector to work in partnership to develop strategies for:
- Communication of services and key messages
- The promotion of healthy eating
- Health promotion in the workplace
