Stuart McDonald
Stuart has over 15 years' experience specialising in design, corporate identity and branding.
I have known the Glennie crew for several years, as my wife Nicky used to work for them full time and still does work for them occasionally, plus I have helped out on occasion on a freelance basis. So when Ian offered me the role of full time in-house Graphic Designer I jumped at the chance. This was an easy decision and the logical “next step” for my career.
I have well over 15 years experience in the design industry, working comfortably over the years as part of small, medium and large design studio structures.
Firstly I worked alongside a designer as part of a double team in The Lake District (where I originate from). I then moved south working for a large Newspaper group, completely re-designing a whole range of Newpapers from format to fonts, layout, editorial and advertising style guides and templates.
Then on to Swindon working for a large Design and Marketing company on several blue chip clients producing corporate identities, brochures, exhibition graphics and systems, multi-media presentations and web design.
Finally closer to home in Melksham where I worked for a huge print company with a large in-house Graphic Design Studio working mainly on design for print including brochures, point of sale, exhibitions, stationery, corporate identity, direct mail etc.
Hobbies? There’s only really one - Power Kite Buggy Jumping (just Google it)! It just consumes me. Been riding for over 8 years and I am now a sponsored rider. I do however, occasionally find the time to enjoy watching films, going surfing, walking by the coast, travelling in our campervan, filming and editing my own power kite movies, and music.
I recently became the proud father to Isla Mae McDonald - she takes up quite a bit of my spare too these days.
