Maria Bowers

With over 15 years in the design industry Maria has been working with Glennie McIntosh for the last five years.

I graduated with an Hons degree in graphic design and initially worked in publishing gaining invaluable experience in book and magazine design, a discipline which has been useful in subsequent projects.

I believe in clarity and strength of design for effective communication, not drowning a message in design for design’s sake. This is partly influenced by my working in sales and journalism during the early part of my career giving me a greater understanding of all aspects of putting a project together.

As part of Glennie MacIntosh team I have worked on a variety of projects in both the corporate and public sector. I enjoy the team work and finding solutions for the client which help them to achieve their goals no matter how diverse the subject matter.

I am passionate about the business and public responsibility for the environment and glad that design can play key role in meeting ‘green’ criteria, for example choosing one of the many quality recycled paper stock for print. Through this I have enjoyed working with clients that have included a cycling charity and renewable energy company and I look forward to working with more such organisations in the future.
